BMW 4 series
Hi there, I have been driving the 2014 E Coupe for the last few months.. Love the looks of the car.. But recently the BMW 4 series caught my attention.. The front do look very aggressive.. And I am contemplating if that should be my next coupe.. What's your thoughts on this car?

Last year, I was thinking about purchasing a 4 series convertible and getting rid of my SC 430. But then I say the E350 cab and was given a good deal (which was cheaper than a 4 series convertible would have been) and decided to go for it. Do not regret it for 1 second. I already have a 2012 X3 and I really enjoy it. Nav is garbage though.

I'd argue the opposite. The interior of my E-Class felt far far too outdated and plasticy. If there's one thing BMW is doing right it's their interior. 4 series is a beautiful car, but no V8!

that's apples and oranges, compare the latest e coupe interior to the latest 4 series. i have no problem with bmw interior MATERIALS. just the design and the color of lighting.
center instrument cluster of the 4 series posted above is God -awful looking. even though the e coupe above is older, the design is more friendly and not a luster of buttons crammed into a a fraction of the available space.

i will say, bmw had better looking interior COLORS (leather colors) than benz for some time now. theres no reason why the e coupe and c and other sports models should not have had a blue or red or brown interior color option much earlier.

looking at that speedo and tach in that color is like needles piercing my eyes...its torture. and then the cluster of buttons they expect you to make sense of all crammed together in that color is as if the designer wanted it to be the most aggravating and annoying setup possible.

Mercedes E350 CD Iridium silver convertible 2010
I had a 2010 BMW z4, the interior, in the main, looked much better than my current Mercedes E350 Cab BUT is it all look and no substance....... The materials used are good looking but when you touch they are cheap, the interior leather of which it had copious amounts was case of don't sit on the seat as the leather just scuffs, the seat bolsters started to breakdown after a few months, so god knows how they would be after a couple of years.......I have never had a car with so many squeaky panels..... just read the forums so I cannot see the new 4 series being that much better as they are in the same price bracket.....

Some of this is purely subjective - but you asked.
BMW will be a better performance/handling car - especially at the limits. They did a great job on f/r weight distribution, low center of gravity, low weight etc. on the 4 series making it a better drivers car than the E Coupe. Can also get a manual if that's what you need.
E Coupe lines are beautiful and clean- 4 Coupe lines are more aggressive, has more angles and vents, but nice propotions.
I can't stand "iPad" Nav/Info screen in the BMW - looks like an afterthought. Both interiors have pros/cons for different folks.
Depends on what you think is important.
Isn't it great we have these choices?

I do not like that NAV billboard in that BMW. Looks like an afterthought. I have a BMW (2012 X3) and as a previous poster said earlier, the quality of the materials are not as good as in my E350 Cab. The MB dash may look dated to those who have had it for a while (I've only had it for 1 year). The build quality of a BMW is nothing like the MB.

to each his own, i think the benz interior looks the best. sure there are great touches to each interior, i really like the red line in the bmw dash above but overall the benz looks best. the audi is a non starter for me - too curvy and pointed towards the driver it seems. would hate to be a passenger in that vehicle. bottom line- if someone likes the bmw, have at it, its by no means a bad vehicle, just wont get too many people on this forum to say they prefer it or else they'd probably be members of the bmw forums instead. personally, id never buy a present-day bmw.
being completely honest, the perfect mix of these 3 brands for me would be an RS5 exterior with mercedes interior, reliability and pano roof with bmw handling. there you have it.

One of them is a build app graphics ... thing, the other one a low angle amateur photo.
In addition the second one uses a much shorter focal length, more than normal length, distorting things quite a bit.

I had a chance to sit in a 4-series with wood interior. I thought the interior was fantastic. Last get BMWs (all of them except Z4) had horrendous interiors but this new one is absolutely spot on. I much prefer it to even the refreshed E interior.
The E-coupe interior is fine, but it's based on a 5-year old design and it shows. The difference is even bigger if you look at new C-class or S-class, but those also eclipse even the best interiors BMW has to offer.
The sad thing is that this interior will live on for another 2-3 year probably until the new E coupe comes along. I'd take the new C-class over E just for the interior alone, any day. MB really pushed the envelope on that one.

I haven't seem the new BMW interiors but the ones I have seen just haven't been to my liking. I can see how some like it though. The new C though, I don't like the screen that just sticks out there like the CLA.
