Broken fuel door

Broken fuel door
Today, I pulled into a gas station to fill up and the gas door panel fell off. No undue activity, I just tapped it to open and it fell off. Anyone else have this happen?
So I took the car to the dealer and you can clearly see the molded retaining tabs on the panel were broken off. They are trying to tell me that this isn't covered under warranty, but there is no evidence of misuse or abuse. I've been very disappointed with my service advisor in the past and now he's just pissing me off.
Anyway, just thought I'd share in case anyone else had a similar problem.

FYI, the dealer fixed the door at their cost. They claim MB refused reimbursement but that they would eat the cost internally. Anyway, the fuel door is fixed and as good as new.

Score one for the dealer. That's the way it should be done. As for MB, lousy customer service.
