When I bought my '14 E350 Cabrio last month, I hadn't realized how low to the ground the front lip spoiler was. For that reason, I was really concerned about scraping it, or even worst, crushing it against a parking bumper or a curb.
Until I found the perfect accessory to avoid this. It is a small sensor called Curb Alert that you can attach to the bottom of the spoiler. Installation is a breeze, easy to calibrate, and you don't even need to drill any holes to route the cable all the way inside the cabin to install the buzzer (which I placed inside the left dash cover, that you can remove when the driver's door is open. All the wires are routed in between panels very easily.
For me, this has been one of the best mods ever, and well worth every penny!
You can see in the first picture the slight angle that I used to calibrate the desired height sensitivity. The second pic is how it looks from the front. It is recessed about 3" from the edge, making it almost imposible to see unless you look below the car. The final pic is the instructions page on how to install.

does it detect the curb on the corners also? in cases where you're pulling up at an angle to the curb to protect the corners?

When you hear a scrape you know its a steep incline/decline.
