Tuning report E550 BiTurbo
Found this report about 2012+ E550 BiTurbo OE Tuning on another forum:
The baseline dyno shows 384.9 wheel horsepower at 4709 rpm. With just the Stage I tune this increases to 469.8 horsepower at the wheels at the same rpm. Torque increases by just over 100 lb-ft at the wheels at the same rpm. The torque gain lower in the rpm range is even higher.
With the addition of downpipes and a Stage II tune gains at 5376 rpm are 102.7 horsepower at the wheels. Torque? 648 lb-ft at the wheels at 3829 rpm compared to the stock 469.9 lb-ft. That is almost a difference of 200 lb-ft.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
If you add a tune and downpipes, probably should get the Quaife differential too.

nice to see OE tuning talked about.
I had my tune for 1 year and recently flashed by dealer back to stock. I paid $100 to reflash to stage 2 level.. ready for DP's.
but at this point.. as mentioned.. without LSD.. its too much power.

Re-mapping the E-550
Recently I had my 2012 E-550 coupe in the dealership for some warranty work. When it was finished, the service adviser told me that they had performed a software update to my car. He said the update was to allow the E-550 to run ANY grade of gasoline ???? Supposedly so many people had begun using Regular (87 Octane) that MB needed to update the mapping to avoid any "pinging". Immediately my car seemed to have less power and darn sure the MPG dropped very noticeably. And NO, I did not switch grades of gasoline. I continue using Premium. I complained to the service advisor and he said that once a flash is done - it can not be undone.
I would GREATLY appreciate the input from other members who have experienced this upgrade or who have any knowledge about it. And lastly, how can it be undone and my engine returned to its original power, performance and MPG.

We, like you, always use Premium fuel and wouldn't be happy with a drop in power.

Update on E-550 flash by dealer
The dealer said to bring it in tomorrow so they can find out what happened. The flash was called "performance enhancement". Maybe it was flashed for a 350 instead of a 550 - who knows. I will update the forum when I have more info.
