19 inch wheels for A207
Hi guys,
I am planning to buy 19x8.5(front) and 19x9.5(rear) rims 35mm offset for my 2011 e350 cabriolet. I am not sure if its going to make much difference in the look of the wheels or not as compared to 17 inch factory wheels. Or should I go for 20s. If its worth going for 19s then what size tires would you recommend that I can go for without making any modification to the axle. Thanks.

A -35 offset should be just right for the front 8.5" wheels but will be too aggressive for the rear 9.5" wheels. You probably want to be around -45 on the rear to be aggressive without rubbing.

I have the same size set up on my E400 coupe and am running a 245/35/19 front and a 275/30/19 rear - lowered 1.6" with no rubbing at all.

M146 Rims fronts 8.5 x 19, offset 42mm and rears 10.0 x 19 offset 55mm for my '12 E350 Coupe, OEM Sport Suspension height, I'm concerned about the rear clearance with the 10" rims, do you think there maybe an issue with the rear or will the non aggressive rear offset compensate?

[QUOTE=tak06;6482956]I just ordered the same setup 245/35/19 front & 275/30/19 rears on Niche

You will have no problem with rubbing on the fender, I run 19X10et50 rears with 275/30/19 Conti DWS and no rubbing ... the concern should be more about rubbing on the inside of the wheel well. There probably won't be an issue as the 275 on a 10" wheel is a bit of a stretch fit and should provide enough clearance.
Good luck with the new rims, the M146 10-spoke should look very nice.

Thanks for the compliments everyone, these are merely Niche alloys rims, reasonably light (I don't notice any difference with the slight increase in weight) & priced, are MB Hubcentric and accept MB Center Caps.

I guess it depends on the tires one chooses but I picked the Falken FK-453's and I find no notable difference in the ride quality, it's less noisy, handles better & feels planted,
I suppose it's the result of lower profile, larger width Falkens, having said that, these are soft compound summer performance tires and I don't expect a long tread life.

I honestly don't notice any difference in the comfort, with the aspect ratio decreasing on the front tires from 40 stock to 35 & rears from 35 stock to 30 but with the coinciding increase in width, fronts 235 to 245 and rears 255 to 275 there is still is plenty of sidewall rubber to soak up the bumps, now if one goes to 20" rims that would necessitate aspect ratio of 30 front & 25 rears which my son uses on his Z06 and I do notice a slightly rougher ride vs my Z06 on 19" rims on aspect ratio of 35 & 30, (we both use 275 fronts and 305 rears)
