Highly recommend IAP Racing for the tune:
http://www.iapracing.com/

They are near Dulles Airport. But I believe you can do the ECU tune yourself with an OBD2 flash loader (My Genius or Android device). Bench tune is required for the M278 twin-turbo V-8.

IAP can provide a lot of guidance on performance mods.

The resonator delete can be done easily by any local exhaust shop. Go with someone reputable and get the better (stainless steel) straight pipes. My local shop even welded a brace between the pipes to maintain stiffness and longevity.

Sick wheels, I was going to get 8.5 ET 35, but it looks like 40 is quite flush already.

I def love the Vertini RF1.1 wheels. 8.5 ET 40 does work great for the front. ET 35 may be a bit too aggressive (but also depends on tire size as I've seen several wheels on this forum with ET 35 for 8.5 width wheels). What are your planned tire sizes front and rear? I'm pretty sure I'm at/near the max tire width sizes without modifications to suspension and/or fender wells and without having the tires stick out past the top of the fenders. I'm running 255/35-19 Front and 285/30-19 Rear.

no wonder it looks flush with et40, I'm going to get 245/275 since I want 20'. So I guess et35 with 245 tire should be about the same as 40/255

Spacers?

How was caliper clearance on the front wheels? Did you use any spacers? I ask because I bought a set of these exact same wheels online brushed titanium size 20x8.5 & 20x10, both et45 and the front wheels did not clear my calipers. I notice you're using et40 fronts. Based on what I saw with the test fit on mine, I'm very surprised that you were able to use et40 fronts without any spacers if that's the case. I'm going to call them Monday to ship back the fronts and get some in et35. Looks like it needed just under half inch clearance so hopefully et35's will work.

I have ET40 19x8.5 on the front with no spacers and the wheels clear calipers with plenty of room (I have the big calipers too). The spoke orientation for the 20" wheels may be a bit different so I suggest confirming with your dealer that those will fit (ET35 should fit fine). Vertini from my understanding can do custom offsets as well.

Good luck and please post pics when you get your new wheels on!

Taking the manufacturer specs on the tire weight (Continental ExtremeContact DWS06) the wheel weights (including TPMS Sensors, caps, air valve covers, balancing weights) are:

Vertini RF1.1
19x8.5 23.6 pounds (47.6-24)
19x9.5 22.3 pounds (48.3-26)

Any issues with rubbing (including with full load) with your lowered E-Coupe on 20's? I'm still investigating lowering springs for my E-Coupe but want ZERO issues with rubbing.

There is rubbing in the rear during drastic suspension travel and with a fully loaded car, but I feel it will be solved with just going from 275's to 265's and problem solved. I want to use up the tread on my rear tires first before buying the 265's. I can't say whether or not you'll have the same problem, but usually going a step down in rear tire width will solve that problem as I have had this problem with my previous cars and changing tire size always solved the issue.

Thank you, this info is very useful.

My 285/30-19 rear tires would also likely rub should I lower with the H&R Springs, even with our difference in overall diameter (your 275/30-20 tires are about 26.5" diameter and my 285/30-19 tires are about 25.7" diameter).

I wish there was an easy (and affordable) adjustable lowering option or more options for milder drops. For my tastes, I'm looking for about 3/4"-1" drop for the front and 1/2"-3/4" drop for the rear. Will keep researching.

Also, did you get a dyno after your ECU tune?

Agreed. I havent found any suitable lowering options yet either. I do not want to deal with the rubbing issue either - having had that before.
I am looking to buy these 19" wheels below in the coming months and replacing my 17" winter rims with the stock 18" AMG ones.

Nice wheels! And perfect offset options for the E-Coupe. I look forward to pics after you get these wheels on!

Also, the KW DDC would allow for an adjustable drop but I'm waiting for the Plug and Play compatibility for the Dynamic Sport Suspension of the E550 Coupe. The other KW options would leave the suspension in Sport mode all the time.

Although I did not get a dyno test after the ECU was tuned, I felt a tremendous increase in power both low & top ends. I went with who I feel are the best Mercedes Tuners out there(Weistec). This tune was developed specifically for CA 91 octane gas cars, which was what I was looking for since I live in CA. The car feels much more powerful than both of my previous W204 C63's, which were both tuned with high flow filters as well. http://weistec.com/all/e/e-550/2012-...u-upgrade.html
