I recently sold my 2010e550 coupe and now thinking about replacing with another e550 coupe new 2016 or preowned 2015. ..Sales rep tried convincing me to test drive the e4004matic coupe but I found it to be rather boring... I then drove a c450amg 4matic and was quite surprised with its performance and pleasing exhaust note. I'm having quite a bit of trouble locating a white with red or natural beige interior E550 coupe on the east coast without waiting 3 -4 months to order so I'm contemplating getting the c450 white with red.
Any thoughts on either of the 2 vehicles?

The e550 coupe is built off the c class chassis I think
Get the ttv8 is the way to go, smooth strong and quiet with a nice exhaust sound at wide open throttle

just bought a new e550 cab, the exhaust and torque is intoxicating... admittedly I've not driven a c class, but the e350 and e400 v6's just don't have that V8 sound....
The new C class is really nice, but I'd have to go V8 as well. I don't agree with calling the C450 an AMG. Spending that much for a C class it needs to be a "real" AMG in my opinion.
If you are considering a new E550, then you can look at the C63 then. That's what you should be comparing.

You will not be disappointed with a V8 Biturbo E550. Incredible car.

Even it's base is C-class, but I have driven a c400 and it was obviously smaller. Or Maybe that was just my bias. hahaOriginally Posted by PeterUbers

Was curious so I went to Edmunds and did a comparison of C coupe, E Coupe and CLA.
http://www.edmunds.com/car-compariso...atorId=3674441
Very Surprising.... C class and E class are really close with headroom/legroom etc.... CLA is much smaller....
Just looking at the numbers the C63 coupe seems like a bargain compared to an E550 coupe.... Having never driven a C class, is the E better equipped ? more options ?

You shouldn't be short on options when comparing the E550 coupe vs. the C63 sedan. AMG cars have plenty of "options" standard, and the same goes for the E550 coupe. It is really more about what you want in a car. 4 door AMG vs. 2 door non-AMG. When I bought my coupe, there was the previous generation C63 still. This new one is great looking all around. If I had to make the same decision today, I think I'd lean towards the C63. I wish the 2017 C63 coupe was the same price range. THAT car...NOICE.Originally Posted by mrmotoguzzi00

Sorry, I just noticed you are looking at the current C63 coupe? This is just personal opinion, but I'm not a fan of the rear styling of that generation C-class. If you like it, it might be the way to go. I'd still opt for the C63 sedan today though.
I do like the biturbo v8 and I'm not too sure what's coming out with the new generation e coupe. I have good reason to think that there may not be a v8. I like the current generation c class. Not too fond of the previous generation but the new c63 coupe may not be out for awhile, and I'm not sure if I need another amg since I still have my e55.

E550 all the way. Its around 100hp and 100lb-ft more than the C450.
Now can't find many 2015's equipped like I was hoping to find. Wanted active lane keeping assist, blind spot, 360 degree camera and distronic...The white/red color combo is a hard find. Even new.... I found a fully equipped 2016 but with silk beige interior... not feeling it..Now looking at a 2014 . fully equipped like I wanted .... diamond white with red and 19k on the odometer. Thinking I might jump on it.... 2015? 2014? Thoughts? I didn't find any major differences....

I believe that there will be a V8 in the new E class.

2015 may have more bugs worked out then a 2014... aka factory updates etc... more warranty....

Anyone have the part number and good source for the gas pedal of my ‘11 E550 coupe? Might do some preventative maintenance. Thanks
