Dealership failed to program new cluster. Said the system was not picking up miles and other variables. I haven't spoken to the tech but can. I assume he is using STAR. What questions would I want to ask him? Thanks

Sounds very strange..Never heard of. Then they must have done something wrong... Was it 100% new and not used?Originally Posted by bdunigan

Reman? You mean by that ? Mercedes dont do that I think?? Sounds so strange. If it is new you just do SCN coding and it adopts the cars settings and miles. ONLY if it is used it wont adopt miles. But still the settings.Originally Posted by bdunigan
Cluster is a reman from Mercedes. Part no 212900321380.

The part is from Benz. Reman means Benz has rebuilt the cluster and sells it as a 'new' unit. Like a reman engine.

Have no clue what they have done. Never had this happen. Never heard they do this toclusters. And if they now tried to install it, it could be in "used" state. Have no clue.Originally Posted by bdunigan

Spoke to the tech this morning. The SCN process did pull the data from the old cluster but stopped once the new cluster was connected. The screen told the tech to call the MB help desk and wouldn't allow further coding. No message regarding a specific issue appeared. Clearly, a conflict exists between my older w212 and the new cluster designed for the newer W212 vehicles. I suspect the conflict is in the Command system but can't be sure.
The good news is that the new cluster was not 'bricked' in the process and is being returned. A direct replacement for the old cluster is now being installed.
Chris, thanks for all your help and attention. I am somewhat disappointed this upgrade didn't work for me but at least I was able to try on my extended warranty's dime!
Again, many thanks for your assistance.

Hi Chris I want to order the headlight conversion kit. What do I need to do for programming?
We do that remotely with Team Viewer on star diagnose.

impressive but would it not have been cheaper change to a facelift model and then do the mods that remain?

Chris,
Impressed with your innovation and quality of work. Since my 2016 S63 Coupe caught on fire, I am adding all of the RennTech upgrades to my 2013 E550 coupe. That is full downpipes and exhausts and swapping over the AMG turbos. I'm also swapping the AMG brakes and the wet clutch and RennTech tuned auto. I am not converting to AWD. EuroCharge is local and will tune the car.
I am thinking about updating to the later model Coupe but want a wide body. I sent you an email to discus further. Since I am in the states, have to figure how to work together.
Looking forward to your thoughts.

Chris can't answer you at the moment as he is on a suspension from the site. Probably for advertising his business without being a forum sponsor.

I advertise no where and I am very carefull with that. Never a link posted to my webstore. Cheap and easy upgrade you can do..The facelif panel.
I bought this new frame but it does not fit well. There is a big gap between it and the screen. How to manage that?Originally Posted by Chris The Swede

hi. I installed the facelift switch panel and the belt extender does not work. How can Ii be done? Does it need coding?Originally Posted by xMaximus
Hey Chris, what is the part number for the switch panel I'm trying to buy one for my car. Anything I need to know before I call the dealer? I don't want to sound a sucker when talking to them. The local dealership in my area does not have a reputation for "good" customer service.

You have to mod it...Originally Posted by Piotr Faron
