Some help wih engine model for a E-350 Coupe
Hi.
I'm new to MB and usually, in previous cars I have had, I like to perform light to medium repairs myself. As a matter of fact, I used to have a Mazda RX-8 which I practically ended-up doing every repair (including heavy repair such as engine removal and update), mainly because lack of trust in local shops.
Currently I own a E-350 coupe 2012, which I'm delight with it, and just ordered the repair manuals a couple of days ago. Meanwhile, I'm preparing to replace brake pads and will order the parts. For this, I have doubt regarding the proper engine applicable. It is the V-6 gas, naturally aspirated, 302 hp. The issue is that the car has a Bluetec tag at each side of the body. But when I search for OEM parts, every website give four options:
- 4matic gas, 3.5 L, 276.952, V6
- Base gas, 3.5 L, 276.952, V6
- Base gas, 3.5 L, 276.957, V6
- Bluetec, Diesel, 3.0 L, 642.850, V6
For sure it is not 4matic gas neither the diesel. It is not awd neither also diesel, although it has the tag of Bluetec at each side of the body. But I'm not sure which of the two base gas to select: the 276.952 or the 276.957. Both has the same description. Also I'm not clear if the Bluetec tag will make a difference on which engine to select.
Any help or feedback for this newby will be really appreciated.

you sure it sayd Bluetec and not BlueEfficiency?
maybe the previous owner added the badge by mistake?

Now that you mention it, double checked it and you're right, it is Blue efficiency. Sorry for that.
Now, the only issue is to determine if it is the 276.952 or the 276.957 and to know the difference between both. Here is the VIN No.: WDDKJ5KB5CF167804.

Finally got a couple of VIN decoder sites. Although I still don't have the differences between the 276.952 and the 276.957, mine is the engine 276.957 according to the VIN No.

It makes reference to the site http://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/Mercedes-Benz. That was the decoder I used. For now I resolved the issue identifying the code of my MB, and already ordered my parts. Also I already ordered the service manual so will check about the differences between both and post any info I may find.
