Passenger Seat Slide
Hi all,
I'm new to the forum as I have just bought a 62 plate E250 Cabriolet and I've noticed something that I think is quite odd which is that if you slide the passenger seat forward to let someone into the rear, the seat does not slide back to it's original position, instead it slides all the way back (and therefore usually squashing the person in the rear!)
Is this a common problem or is there a quick easy fix??

Car went to the dealer and they adjusted a cable and it worked for a short while but now the same thing is happening again!!
Few other things are starting to creep in now as well, which is quite disappointing for a 4 year old car with less than 40k on.

Does your model have a memory seat adjustment on the passenger side? If so try programming in a setting and see if the seat returns to the memory position. If no memory I think you will have to live with it going all the way back or manually stop the seat with the seat adjustment switch before it goes all the way back.

Hello pdeacon,
Its does not have memory seats. Its intermittent - at the moment its flying backwards taking out any shins that are in its way.
What do you mean by "seat adjustment switch" do you mean the peeling chorme lifter on the top left (UK car) sholder of the passenger seat?
Does anyone have a diagram of this seat? I cant see anyhing broken, so have probably bent or stretched something.
Also any recommendations for garages / independent / mobile Mercedes mechanics, for the south west Essex region (UK).
Thanks
