Interior door release/opener handle-scratched
I bought my E550 CPO and it came with a bunch of scratches on the metal (I assume it is metal) interior door release lever. Pretty sure this car was owned by a woman prior to me (car was leased) and I'm assuming that she had a ring on that hand that caused all the scratches on the handle. Anyway, can this be polished out or replaced easily? It kind of bothers me.
I've tried a non-abrasive metal polish and that helped a tiny bit but you can still see the scratches.
I was thinking of trying to wet sand the piece but I don't want to make it worse or change the sheen of the metal.

I would stay away from trying to wet sand the handle. You'll only make it worse by creating new micro scratches in the handle. Your best bet would be to replace the door handle, if you can get a new replacement one or at least one off another same year model vehicle.
