Convertible top banging on closure
Hi all,
We have a 2012 e350 Carbiolet we bought earlier this year. A week or so ago there is a banging when putting the top back up and it seems like it is just "dropping" the rear windshield down onto the deck in back. Anyone seen this? Any ideas other than a trip to the dealer?

I'm not sure if this is the same banging sound as I have but whenever the panel closes (regardless of putting the top down or up), it has a loud bang. I thought this was normal. is this not the case?

Is it recommended to replace both sides at the same time? I have one hinge that's broken. The dealer quoted me $1,009.06 to replace both hinges. Looks like I can buy part (207-750-11-00) online for $224. I'd prefer to just replace the broken hinge.
