E400 Exhaust
Hi Guys,
I have the 3.0L twin Turbo E400 cabrio (in Australia) which i bought a couple of months ago. I am hoping now that the C43/E43 is more of a thing.. performance parts for this engine will be more available.. anyone else here with the E400?
I am keen to get a bit more of a sporty note out of the exhaust.. at the moment it seems to sound quite raspy almost diesel like
though sometimes you get a littel subdued hint of hope!
I know there have been threads on the the V8's and removal of the resonators.. does anyone know if something like that is an option on the E400?
I havn't been able to see up under the car yet and i don't necessarily want to do a full exhaust on the thing.
Thanks guys
Kent

I can only assume you can delete the resonator on the E400 as well, but the sound will be different as it is a V6 vs. a V8. I'm not sure if any V6 owners (E350) have tried it.

I don't know about the Benz other than the V8, but a few of my friends with Lexus have cut out the resonator on their V6 and it gave it a sportier sound. The best thing about deleteing the resonator it that it's cheap and reversible.

Thanks Guys,
Info seems to be scarce on the M276 DELA30, let alone the engine in the C207.. hoping that changes now the engine seems to be in the US.
If only we had the E550's in the facelifted cabrio
I know it won't be a V8 noise.. but hoping for better than a diesel at this point lol
I will have to take it into a shop and see what the exhaust layout looks like
