M278 engine to be replaced by M176/budget AMG
"The M278 being replaced was inevitable:Mercedes is taking their AMG M177/M178 architecture and putting it into cars throughout the lineup. M176: a budget AMG V8.
Bore and stroke is the same as the M177 and M178 at 83.0 x 92.0mm. Horsepower is 476 which is just ahead of the W205 AMG C63 at 469 horsepower and the C190 AMG GT at 456 horsepower"
