Still waiting on MB Australia to do the recall for the E350. Getting close to a year now with no results.
I know the Australian government has put a deadline that all faulty Takata Airbags need to be replaced by June 2020...not sure what's going to happen once we reach this date and if MB still hasn't sorted out the recall :/

Ive called them multiple times and was even transferred (the booking) to another dealership in attempts to help speed up the process but hasn't helped it seems. The service manager there didnt seem to even care when i mentioned the deadline is mid 2020 and what would happen if the airbags weren't replaced by then. His answer was simply 'i cant tell you anything i dont know' :/

I got a letter last spring and my service advisor still has no idea when the parts will be available. If someone gets hurt (or worse) in my car, I will be suing Mercedes-Benz.

I've been waiting since January 2019.

Which Melbourne dealer are you registered with Chris? Mine is Burwood.

Thumbs up Airbag replaced by asking service adviser

I was scheduled to have a MB service recall done at Mercedes Benz of Fairfield (CT). The service recall was to update the software for the ECU for the 3.5L V6 (CHECK FOR OPEN CAMPAIGN 2019 04 0001 UPDATE ENGINE CONTROL UNIT SOFTWARE (ME-SFI) TO XENTRY LEVEL 12/18 WITH ALL
ASSOCIATED PATCHES AS PER CAMPAIGN INSTRUCTIONS.)

Estimated time was this complimentary service was three hours. MB would provide me a complimentary loaner car white this update was being applied.

I mentioned to the Service Adviser that I hoped that the open recall for the passenger airbag would be taken care of in the next 12 months.

When I came back 3 hours later, the Service Adviser, Juan Ramos, informed me that they had the passenger airbag in stock and that he had the technician install a new passenger airbag to same me another trip to the dealership.

After the service work, my car received a complimentary car wash and towel dry. The body was spotless!

This is the second time that Mercedes Benz of Fairfield Service department has exceeded my expectation in the past 18 months.

"Thank You" to Juan Ramos (Service Adviser) for 1st rate customer support and overall experience.

2012 E350 Cabriolet now SOLD to my son
Well, i wish that dealer was here in Atlanta. RBM just doesnt give rats butt about service and notifications. I have been waiting 2 years to get the airbags done on my 2012 E350.

Service advisor doesn't even answer my emails

Mine was finally replaced last week after 3 years of waiting. I was thinking of trading it in on another Mercedes at an MB dealer last month and they told me they would have to wholesale my trade due to the airbag issue. I was not impressed and got the airbag replaced as soon as I got the letter telling me they were finally available.

I have an early 2012(I think), and I just got my passenger side done last week - the same week I got my letter from MB saying they were ready.
