2011-2012 e250 cgi (c207)
First of all sorry if i'm posting in the wrong section and sorry if a question has been asked like mine (i did a small search but couldn't find any).
Let's get to my question: I'm looking forward to buy a e250 CGI C207 2011-2012. It's what i can afford at the moment and it is what i will buy
Not looking forward to buying other models /newer models. Anyway, i did some research and for the 2011-2012 e250 CGİ coupé, it says that its 7G tronic on some websites, and some show it as 5 shift gear box (automatic). Anyone have any idea which one is correct? Are 2011-2012 e250 CGİ cars 7g tronic?Another question is, what should i be aware of when buying a used e250 cgi? What are the common problems? Any specific things that i should check?
Sorry for the bad English, it's not my native language. I hope you can answer my questions, especially the 7g tronic one!
Thanks in advance!
In the U.S.A., there were notable differences between model years 2011 and 2012 E350 and E550 C207's. Both had seven speed transmissions, but the trans was tweaked in 2012 to be more responsive and to mate optimally with the new V6 Direct Injection engine that replaced the V6 in prior year C207's. The trans was re-named 7G Tronic Plus to reflect this. But none of this helps you.
Again, try some other Mercedes websites and perhaps do a more in-depth web search. My quick search before posting this came up with the 5 speed trans showing on both the 2011 and 2012 E250. A 4 cylinder engine was also mentioned on one site.
Good luck.

In addition, based on my research on www.automobile-catalog.com , the 2011 E250 BlueEfficiency Coupe has a 7-speed gearbox whereas the 2011 E250 CGI Blue Efficiency Coupe has a 5-speed gearbox.
For 2012, it's the 7-speed across all models.
Hope this is useful.
BTW, the VIN checker available online is it for USA cars only or International? I can't find a VIN checker for Singapore.
