Question about the right-hand reading lamp underneath the rear-view mirror for E400

Exclamation Question about the right-hand reading lamp underneath the rear-view mirror for E400
I was just wondering if it's normal if the right-hand reading lamp underneath the rear-view mirror always turn on at night? I just notice that at night, the light turn on all the time, but never turn off. Not sure if this is normal?

2012 E550 cabriolet always on
there is a small bulb that is always on and very dim. I think that it is an ambient light so that the cabin is not completely dark. It points to an area around the ashtray.
