Intelligent Drive / Package Confustion

All -

I'm very close to purchasing a 2018 e400 coupe. Have worked through all the details and was just comparing the build sheet of the car I'm going to buy with MBUSA's website. I thought all I needed to do to get the latest semi-autonomous driving features was get Premium Package 3. However, the build sheets from the dealers on the car I'm buying don't match up from the website. Also the MSRP's are different.

For example - this is what is listed as being part of Package 3 on the MBUSA website:

Premium 3 Package (MSRP $10,200)

  • Includes Premium 2 Package plus:
  • Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC
  • Active Steering Assist
  • Evasive Steering Assist
  • Active Blind Spot Assist
  • Active Lane Keeping Assist
  • Active Lane Change Assist
  • Active Brake Assist with Cross-Traffic Function
  • Congestion Emergency Braking
  • Active Emergency Stop Assist
  • Active Speed Limit Assist
  • Surround View System
  • PRE-SAFE PLUS
  • Head-Up Display
Here is the list from the dealer build sheets. I've received these on 3 or 4 different cars and they all have the same list. MSRP 9350

P03 P03 Premium 3 Package:
Active Parking Assist,
Inductive
Wireless

K32 : LED lighting
K33 : Extended Restart by STOP and GO Traffic
P17 : KEYLESS-GO Comfort Package code
P21 : Air Balance Package
P35 : Lighting Package code
P44 : Parking Package code
23P : Driver Assistance Package code
233 : DISTRONIC PLUS (with PRE-SAFE Brake)
235 : Active Parking Assist
266 : Steering Assist for driver's assistance package
463 : Head-Up Display
464 : 12.3" Widescreen Instrument Cluster
501 : Surround View System
513 : Speed Limit Assist
536 : SiriusXM® Radio All-Access w/ 6 mo. Trial Period
540 : Power Rear Sunshade
546 : Speedlimit Assist
608 : Adaptive Highbeam Assist
640 : LED Intelligent Light System
871 : HANDS-FREE ACCESS
881 : Electronic Trunk Closer
889 : KEYLESS-GO®
897 : Inductive Wireless Phone Charging w/ NFC Pairing

Can someone clarify what's going on here? I thought all 2018 e400's had the most advanced semi-auto driving features (same as the e-class and s-class).

Thanks in advance

hey Spicedparrot - I thought I would be able to assist ... I took delivery of an ordered '18E400 Cabriolet with P3 ... my P3 list cost was $9,350 .. and it is still the same on the Configurator tool ... I will say on my Build Sheet the Line "Distronic Plus" incorporates ALL the "Active" Systems such as Steering / Lane Change / Speed Limit Assist / etc / etc ...
? why the P3 on the Coupe is different than the Cab I don't know .. interesting
I will say it's an excellent automobile ... I took delivery in November and loving it
Good Luck in your decision
Steve

I have come to find that the major difference between the MBUSA website build and the Monroney is the MBUSA build usually incorporates all items in any particular package and shows that price, while the Monroney lists the individual item as if it were an ala-carte selection. For example ... even though the Burmester audio system is part of the P3 package (a function of being included in the P2/P1 packages) you'll find it listed as a stand-alone item on the Monroney. Therefore, if you add the price of the Burmester ($850) to your $9350, I believe you'll arrive at $10,200 ... the price shown on the MBUSA website.

You need to be careful with option selections My '18 cab has P3 and I assumed that included just about everything. After taking delivery I found that I didn't have a heated steering wheel or electronic trunk closer. In my part of the country the heated wheel comes in handy. The dealer informed me that the heated steering wheel is a stand alone option as is the electronic trunk closer. Still a great car but...I should have been paying closer attention. Would it have changed my decision on this particular car? Probably not.

Can y’all help me confirm then that the 2018 E400 with the P3 package has all the semi autonomous features then? That’s one of my main reasons for purchasing another Benz and want to be sure before forking over the cash.

Yes, P3 has all the auto driving "stuff".
