E-350 (2011) doesn't read CD tracks

I have an iPod Classic connected in my glovebox. The iPod was filled with music through Apple's iTunes...the Control Center correctly displays all the albums and songs that play. However, when I insert a CD, it simply shows up as, say, Disk 3, Track 1. Does the E-350 not read music tracks on a CD??? Or am I missing something?

Thanks!

David

By "read music tracks", I assume you're asking if it reads the track detail data (i.e., song name, artist, etc). My entire library is on a USB drive, so I haven't really used the CD drive in my car, but that data is usually pulled from Gracenote. Are you using a commercially pressed CD that you bought in a store, or did you burn the CD yourself from a computer? If you burned the CD, the data is probably missing from the disc itself.

Thanks for the response, Mr. Toad. Yes, I am using commercially purchased CDs.

Is there a setting in your COMAND configuration for turning Gracenote on/off?

Ahhhhh....I pulled out the MB User Guide and Command info. It showed me where to find GraceNote in Command. When I launched all of my CDs, though, GraceNote was greyed out. So I tried something else...I got a handful of different CDs and...lo and behold...some showed that GraceNote DB was being read AND the track information displayed!!!!

So I have to conclude: I've been buying Classical Music CDs since the mid-80s (I was an early adopter). And many of my CDs simply don't have GraceNote information on them.

Thanks again for putting up with my naivete!

GraceNote wasn't created until 1998, so it makes sense that your CDs from the 80s don't work with it. Glad you figured it out!
