Mobile Phone Holder - Dash mount

Show me your Phone mounts. I am not sure where one will go that will not block the screen, vents or something important. What do you all have.

I tend to just have my phone in the arm rest. Best option I have seen for having it on the dash is the brodit option. Not the cheapest by a long way and you buy it in 2 parts. Mount for the particular car and then the part for the particular phone.

https://www.brodit.com/productList.h...r=2013&pn=prod for the car mount part.

I may go down this route when I next change my phone.

Don't use the CD mounted ones as they can damage the laser and make that fail. personally not a fan of air vent mounted ones either.

One of the reasons I am going to install a 10.25" android touch screen head unit so the phone doesn't need to be out at all.

Not a real fan of the iPad look, but better than the other options.

They look ok. I am also tempted. Not getting great support and response from CMK. I was expecting a bit more from him. I might have to buy from there though as I need the RHD option and I can't see it anywhere else.

I'm currently using a suction cup mount that I have above the screen but it sits right on top horizontal so it doesn't obstruct vision. I plan on getting the big android screen eventually so I just wanted something temporary. It also clips on with a strong magnet so it's really really easy to use. Hopefully it doesn't permanently damage the leather I took it off to make sure and it came off fine and left a ring that I was able to wipe off. Here's a link to it.

I don't think I have seen anything else like the Brodit Proclip out there. They aren't cheap, but at least come in 2 parts so changing car or phone isn't so much of an impact.

Do most people use the non powered version of the phone cradle?

Yea i recently moved it to the bottom corner of the screen area. The suction cup fits perfectly there and looks less conspicuous. Also does not block the screen. Sorry I had assumed this was an adhesive based mount I didn’t know it fits into the seams and is designed specifically for the vehicle. This really is the best way to go and the price is not bad compared to other mounts. I’m probably going to get the one that hangs below the command screen myself.

I've had both and I like the non powered a lot more.

Thread revival. Is ProClip still the answer or has someone come out with a better solution in the past 3 years? I don't like the idea of sticking something to the dash or console.

I use a magnetic holder. Alas, it requires a metal piece to be attached to the back of your device.
Quite gentle on your wallet at about USD 15.00
They offer a few options online
here here
.

Not my usual phone but I need the phone to snap a photo.

Look for “magnetic phone holder” via your favourite online merchant.
