2104 Rear Cup Holder Sliding Cover Question

I notice quite a few of the sliding covers are in the wood material but the 2014 E350 Cabriolet is beige plastic. Can i purchase the wood sliding door or just the wood to attach?

I understand your confusion, as I recently researched this myself and was unable to discern any rhyme or reason as to why some models came with wood while others came with plastic.

My 2016 came with the plastic cover, which I think looks incredibly cheap, and I was determined to replace it with a walnut slider to match the rest of my interior. If your car came with the plastic cover, you cannot simply order the replacement console part number for your VIN because you'll get the plastic one again; the trick is to locate a model that has the wood cover you want and then order the rear console part number for that VIN.

The part won't be cheap (somewhere in the neighborhood of $250-$350) because you usually have to purchase the entire rear console; the slider itself is hard to find as a standalone part.

I got lucky by monitoring eBay, where I came across a used rear console with the walnut slider from an E550. The color of the console itself didn't match my Silk Beige interior, but that didn't matter because all I needed was the slider. The part was listed for about $175, but I got the seller down to $95 with free shipping. Swapping out the slider is a very simple procedure once you understand how the rear seat is mounted; I can do it in about five minutes total.

I have a 2011 e550 and have the walnut slide cover. I don’t like it and want to switch.... can you send me a picture of what you have? Maybe we can swap?

bear1r, the slider pictured in dmndE550cp's post should be easy to swap into your car.
