How many Designo Mystic Reds? And Valuation help
Hi,I have a 2011 E550 Cab in Designo Mystic Red with ebony dash trim, have never seen another, is there a way to learn how many were imported to US?
Also, my needs have changed and I need to sell it. I sure could use some help divining the real value.KBb etc value it just above the cost of a large coffee at Starbucks. 63kmi, still looks new, yadda. Yes, I know pix would help....

At 8 years old they really will punish you price wise if you go to a dealer. All MB cars depreciate a lot, I have had 5 in a row and when this one goes I will not buy another. The more you spend, the more you lose.

On a 13 year old car, you’re probably stuck. In terms of actuarial book value, a 13 year old car is still a 13 year old car. They don’t care about what “market” values are for these wagons. Given the cost of the OEM aluminum body panel repairs, it’s clearly cheaper for them to total it and cut their losses. They ain’t spending big bucks repairing a 13 year old car using required new OEM aluminum panels.
The car I just bought this week is a mint 2003 e55 sedan with 72K miles. Has a rebuilt title because a year ago, a truck backed into it at 3 mph in a parking lot and crumpled the corner of the hood and front part of fender. Thats it. Parking lot fender bender. Car was totaled out and branded with a salvage title.
Luckily for me, the rebuilt title badge of shame significantly dropped the market value of the car. Like a big scarlet letter. But the repaired car is dang near perfect inside and out.

I'm sure it was just bad math. If the car has the older 5.5L eng then it's no doubt worth less. I say this because I've been looking for a 550 but I only want the newer 4.7 turbo because it has more power and gets much better mpg. Seems others feel the same way so the 5.5's go for a good chunk less. So I'd just look at the all the ads across the US of the same year/eng to get a feel for what it's worth, then run an ad. Or you may get a better price using it as a trade-in? Sometimes they give a great trade-in to get you into the new(er) car. But imo the best way is to sell it yourself and use cash to make the best deal on the next. Just some thoughts... Good luck!
