Coilover Install/ EDC delete Help

Hey Guys,
I just installed KW variant 1 coilover kit on 2010 e550 coupe.
including the EDC cancellation kit.
Wondering if anyone has any experience with this EDC kit and the "Sport Mode" on all the time problem?
I cannot get any definitive answer as to whether this kit is supposed to stop this problem or just prevent error codes.
KW support says it should work but as of now my vehicle is in sport mode permanently.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks!

I saw your pics on another post.. Mine isn't nearly as low...My shocks were blown and this was a cheaper option than replacing with OEM....
I have to say the ride is great tho!

were you able to figure this out? I'm looking at coilovers as well but can't find answers regarding the edc cancellers.

Car is in sport mode all the time. I have just gotten used to it. Gas mileage is still comparable.
As far as I know without the edc cancellation kit there would be lights on the dash.
Ride is great. I am happy with KW's....If you don't want to spend time adjusting them all the time I would go with variant 1 for everyday driving.

Best of luck!

AutoTalent.com had best price

They don't look bad...you get what you pay for. I was originally looking at Godspeed and cheaper options but I didn't want to put something cheap on a Mercedes.
If you have a sport mode button in the car you will have to get EDC kit and KW is only plug and play option I found. I bought the V1 kit that included them but you can buy the separate.
Thanks!
Talk to Golan at Auto Talent..He was super helpful I'm sure he will take care of you
Best of Luck!

Been away for a while and still haven't dealt with my front struts, but from my understanding.. Getting the Error cancellors from KW will only prevent errors being thrown, but "sport" will always be on regardless right?

If that's the case, and this is from a purely economical viewpoint, then technically, I can swap in a regular front strut from C207 that doesn't have electronic suspension since the "Sport" light always always been on regardless whichever route I take ?

I'm still on the fence regarding which route I want to take.
1. OEM - Sport button function properly but quite expensive.
2. Coilovers - basically same price as just getting OEM front struts but has SPORT button always on.
3. Getting a normal strut for the front and be always in SPORT like coilovers but save a lot of money.

Only way to be sure is unplug the EDC from struts and turn the car on...See if you get any error codes.
I thought that this kit would avoid the sport mode issue which is why I went that way. KW said that it should mimic the function and work that way.
Could I possibly have gotten defective one? Or installation error? Yes.

I do like your option #3 but im not sure if there are any normal struts that fit. ive been doing research on Bilstein B4 and B8's ,Sacchs and Monroes
im not sure if they can be used. im OK with the Sport mode always on and i like the stance on my stock ride.

I would assume a strut from say E350 or E550 without electronic suspension would fit? Option number 3 would be saving quite a bit of money. I will do some research on this and report back since I need to replace my front struts eventually. They've been leaking for awhile.

I'm runing KW DDC plug & play for 4 years on my E500 bi-turbo and had a major headache all this time.
Lost alot of time, money and couldn't use my car at 100% the way I would like.

KW DDC coilovers are too soft, I had them rebuilt by KW two times, changed front and rear springs 2 times, and the rear was allways loose and soft.

I've made alot of research, and conclude that EDC suspension uses the same ECU from airmatic cars W219/W212, and have a "software" to privilege confort, not ideal for a car with this power and torque, speacilly if tuned like mine.
If we are on a coble stone road for example and we press sport the suspension changes to sportier ride but imediatly starts to soften up because it "senses" the road. It's very high tech compared to other brands.
Then I started to disconect the plug on the shocks to see what it would do, and no lights on the dash, and the car drives normal, but with the shocks all the time in a fixed setting with no ECU intervention, and the interior button always fixed on sport mode.

Moral of the story, I just ordered other set of KW but this time the V3, got some discount because all of this hassle.

Just to share my experience...

Considering doing the same thing as you and have a concern over the edc cancellation kit as I thought it would prevent a sport mode issue too. Which version are you using as I see they have two designs. This on kws website looks like it may be a newer style? https://www.kwsuspensions.com/produc...-68510305.html
