Battery question about "Programming"
I am taking my E350 cab (2014) into the shop because of a battery indicator that is probably a relay (or so says my Carly ODB2 reader.) The shop keeps telling me that if it's the battery it NEEDS to be programmed. I know BMWs require battery programming. I replaced the aux battery, and I have a feeling they are going to tell me "It has to be programmed for only 90 dollars." Is he lying? Does either battery need to be "programmed?" None of the youtube videos I've watched for battery replacement say "need to be programmed" I know mechanics hate people like me and I really don't want to **** them off. (people who know enough to do stupid things but not enough to fix it right)

To my knowledge no programming needs to be done to change the battery. I have changed my battery 2 times thus far in my 2011 and I keep all doors closed, windows up. Battery comes out new on in and its like it never happened. Maybe different in 2014 but I will tell ya that would be a lot of people having to go the dealer... Not likely..
