Possible Wheel Bearing?

Has anyone ever replaced a front wheel bearing on their A207/C207?

Got a 2014 A207, its on 48,000 miles and I think a front wheel bearing is going/gone, there is a hum/rumble on the road and bumping up curbs bit of a knock at times.
Will jack it up tomorrow and wiggle the wheel to confirm.

Wondered what kinda mileage people have seen them go if at all??

Also, if you have replaced one on the front is it an easy DIY? I have found Febi sell a full hub/flange for sale complete with inner and outer bearing so you just swap onto the spindle with a nice load of new grease....

Please share you experiences, advice.

Many thanks
Bill

One way to tell - while driving along, a bad wheel bearing will usually get louder while steering in the opposite direction from the side the wheel bearing is on, since that puts more of a load on that side.

Under regular use, front bearings last 100K+ miles. Some 25 years ago I learned a lesson to use proper grease. Make sure you use quality specialty grease such as Mercedes Hi-Temp Bearing Grease (p/n 002989005110 $5.06). Annual replacement likely means improper installation.
