It is clearly in response to a known bug in the software / hardware on certain models of ECU which by the looks of it is triggered on a low battery scenario if left standing for some time. Maybe more examples have come to light during the current times where people are not using their cars for long periods.
Mine has spend 4 months doing maybe 2 journeys a month of less than 10 miles each. Its not one of the models listed here, but I have been putting it on a battery conditioner every couple of weeks to avoid these types of issues.
Its good for people to know of the scenarios and errors that manifest to know if this applies. So good post.
