LED to HALOGEN

My 2011 E350 cabriolet had been converted from Halogen to LED headlights. I noticed that even the highbeams were LED and because of that the reflector part of the housing had started to melt. I’d like to convert the high beams and maybe even the low beams back to halogens. The LED low beam bulbs aren’t that bright.

can I just plug new halogen bulbs back in or are there things I need to do to convert them back?

Highly unlikely that the LEDs are causing the melting. LEDs generate less heat than halogens.

Agree that LED produce very little heat.

this is the headlight assembly. I’ve since gone ahead and replaced the high beam bulbs with halogens but notice the damage from the LED bulb. I agree that the bulbs themselves are cooler but the area at the bottom of the bulb is not. The low beams (still LED at the moment) have fans to cool the heat sink assemblies and I was told that the sealing caps for the headlight assemblies must be left off to keep the heat sinks from overheating.
