Hi forumers,

I wanted to ask if anyone knows the purpose of this part A271 140 10 87. Google check indicated it as a noise filter. I could not find anything on it’s purpose. I saw that mine had a lot of residue (in pic attached) but dealer said it was unnecessary to change. Just wanted your thoughts.
