wider tires trade-offs
Hi, I've been thinking of upsizing the tires and on another post someone suggested 235/35-19 front and 275/30-19 rear. Right now I have 235/45-17s front and back. Having bigger and wider tires can mean a lot of good and probably not so good things... Can someone share their experience? I live in a place with a lot of potholes and that can also be an issue, but I mostly want to know how did the consumption change? I drive a 350cdi with 231hp, an European model.

what are you looking for?
Better ride - Soft smooth comfy?
OR hard racing like experience?
CONS:
Wider will hydroplane early then skinny tire.
lower profile means more likely to damage wheel on potholes etc.
Less tires to shop from
Tires tend to be more performance rubber so they wear out quicker.
different front to rear size means no rotation so fonr or rear will wear out before other....
Pros:
???? looks cool?
Faster lap times on race track.
