I Just Bought A Benz!!
What's up people! I am a new benz owner! Woooo!!!
I've been looking for a nice E class with low mileage for a few months now. After having a few e350's scooped up before I even got to test drive them I was getting frustrated and started considering other cars.
I knew I wanted a convertible though so I was looking at the 2011-2013 models. All of them are super nice, but I had to hold out and get black on black (the metallic light blue is just not for me haha).
Anyway, I ended up finding this amazing car at some luxury wholesaler: a 2011 E550 Cabriolet with only 37,000 miles on it.
The console and display are a little dated (it literally has a cd player and cigarette lighter...), but omg this v8 is crazy fun to drive, and it's just so fckn beautiful overall.
It has all the essential perks though- backup camera, xm radio support, push to start ignition, heat / ac (it even has air vents in the headrests which I think is pretty dope).
I've been saving up from my coding paychecks and cashed out some crypto in order to buy it- just went in with a massive bank check and a wad of hundred dollar bills and bought it outright for just under $30k. felt pretty ballin!
Anyway, hopefully I get a solid few years of fun out of this baby without having to do any major repairs or crashing the **** out of it...
I figured this would be a good community if I did have questions and all- still learning how this thing works honestly.
Speaking of questions, there is a little light for tire pressure that won't go off (an exclamation mark with the back of a car on either side).
I put 38 psi in the front and 40 in the back, but the light won't go off... is that not right?

What does the B pillar or gas cover say the air should be? Also, the car is 10 years old. The TPMS could be bad.

Congrats on a nice find.
Check the inside of the gas filler door - it would have the recommended tyre pressures. Mine is a 2011 E550 Coupe (just hit 20K miles), and it calls for 33psi all around. I understand that the cabriolet would be heavier, so the pressures might be different, but 40 sounds excessive. Enjoy your new E-classe, and hope to see some photos.

Hey, welcome to the club! Fellow E550 cab owner her, having bought mine in August.
The tire pressure light is probably for the rears which, believe it or not, need to be around 48psi. Check the sticker on the b pillar with the driver side door open.
BTW, the “air scarf”, which is the name of for the vents in the headrest, is heat only. Nice in the winter!

"air scarf"... Lol, that's a funny one.
And thanks for the air tips. I'll try to fill them again later 👍

You could go into the settings menu and reset the TPM. You should set the pressures to the correct values before you do though. Otherwise, maybe the sensors batteries are depleted. If you get the correct new sensors (I got 4 new ones this year on Ebay, make sure you get the right ones), once they are installed you just go into settings, reset the TPM system and drive around for a while and they will be found by the computer.
