Hello all, I have a 2012 E550 Cabriolet V8. There seem to be no tutorials on changing the spark plugs nor pics on line. Has anyone done this themselves?
I found this very helpful... https://www.leighsr.com/
Lots of info out there. Hope it helps. Did mine after purchase. Kinda (very) tight quarters. But doable.
this YT shows all you need....

This is for the non-turbo E550 5.5 L
1. Remove the front section of the engine cover by lifting up.
2. Remove both intake air snorkels by pulling forward and upwards on it near the air cleaner and then pulling it rearwards out of the casing near the radiator.
3. Remove the air cleaner by flipping back the wire retainer at the rear and lifting up at the rear to clear the throttle body. The air cleaner and front cover have rubber knob press
catches you need to overcome.
4. This gives access to all the coils. Remove the first coil by pulling out the gray latch on the electrical connector and pulling the connector out of the coil.
5. Remove the two t30 screws on the coil and twisting slightly pull it straight up and off the spark pug.
6. Remove the plug with a plug socket.
7. Repeat for the other 7 coils. You may need a universal joint socket for the harder to reach ones
8. You can do one at a time or if you're really experienced at remembering where things go, you can remove all plugs at the same time.
9. Make sure each new plug has the correct gap, apply a dab of anti-seize (never forget this on an aluminum head) and install the plug to 18 ft-lbs.
10 Reinstall the coil and insert the electrical plug, pressing in the gray latch to lock it.
