A horrible but true story

I feel compelled to share a "first world horror story" with everyone.

On February 15, 2021, I ordered a 2021 E450 Cabriolet for my wife from our local Mercedes Benz dealer in NJ, of whom I have been a customer of for close to thirty (30) years.

While I understand all of the various Covid, supply chain and other delays, we sit today almost a year and a half later and are without her car. We are told it was completed in March (now it is a model year 2022) but is sitting on the dock in Germany awaiting delivery in the USA. My dealer has taken a stance of "missing in action" and has never pro actively reached out to us once since last February either by email or phone with regard to the delay in delivery of the car. When I email him for a status report, all I get is "maybe next month." We have a vehicle identification number but very little hope of actually ever receiving the car; all we get his hollow rhetoric.

I have spoken with MBNA who has been even less help than our dealer...."call your dealer and maybe they can help."

Can this REALLY be possible?????

Sorry to hear about this but due to various circumstances and new events that happen from time to time, it is challenging for anyone to know or predict when a vehicle will arrive to USA, your dealership can't control logistics. I do truly feel sorry that it took this long and you still haven't got your vehicle. There is a reason why there is a waiting thread, hopefully that makes you feel better knowing you are not alone. https://mbworld.org/forums/w213-amg/...213-order.html
Edit: Not like this really matters, but your vehicle belongs in the C238 sub-forum, I am hoping that more owners including those who are waiting are able to see your thread once you post there (if you want to):

Either way, hope your vehicle arrives soon, Good luck!

You sound like you think your dealer doesn't care if the car comes in...do you think he can earn a living if he doesn't get cars? He wants it to come in but he knows what he says is falling on deaf ears. Believe me when I tell you he is more concerned than you are. I would ask for my deposit back and buy a nice BMW or similar. If you made no deposit, you really have no control at all.

I have been buying cars from them for many, many years…..no deposit ever required and never an issue on any front.
