Need Advice on Transmission/Valve Body

I took my car in to the dealership after my transmission clearly failed and put my car into limp mode. I paid $5900 for a complete transmission R&R. The transmission installed was a used unit with about 72,000 miles (car has 104,200). The car drove well for about a month but unfortunately broke down on me about a week ago. I took it once more to the dealership only to be told that my valve body now needs to be replaced and would cost me $3,972. My question is, does the transmission R&R include the valve body? Or would they have removed the valve body from the bad trans and install on the new one? I’m not too inclined when it comes to vehicles so I feel as if they’re trying to pull a fast one on me here. Any advice is appreciated.

MB dealerships do not normally rebuild but rather replace all-inclusive, should be documented on your invoice with MB 24 month / 24,000 mile (whichever comes first) warranty. Unfortunately you’re out of warranty. Speak with service manager for goodwill assistance.

Most dealers will not install used parts because they warranty their work .You cannot warranty a used part ,when you buy used parts you get what you pay for .Its not always cheaper a rebuilt one would be better buy .A dealer doesnt want to deal with potential problems from a critical part that is used .A used part installed usually has customers authorization some will come with 90 day warranty .How reliable can a trans with that mileage be anyway. Were trans modules replaced , and it would have to be correct part number and right calibration for your car. What was cause of original trans failure? That may have caused your used trans to fail also unless it was addressed.
