Rear speaker problem

2016 e400 coupe
Rear speaker problem
It seems that the speaker is going out in the rear deck area of my 2016 E400 coupe. It’s a bass speaker, I guess maybe subwoofer, and it appears to be right in the middle of the rear deck. Has anybody dealt with that issue who can let me know if that’s something a moderately handy person like myself can do, or do I need to bring it to mercedes and pay a lot of money.

Just getting quieter, cutting out, making horrible noises?
You can always do it yourself, and I'd imagine this is an easy one assuming it really is just the speaker. I'd dig in there are pop it out for a look-c. I'd imagine it's easy to access from the underside in the trunk, which is how it's normally done. Lets see of MB found a way to make it super difficult.

Crunching noise, like the paper come is ripped. I think I can go in there and replace it but all of the YouTube videos show you going into the top, removing the grill, but it sure looks like you can get to it thru the trunk.

There will be official MB instructions for it. Ironically I probably have it, at least I think I do, but I've never used the program. I suppose I should learn.
There's a member here, konigstiger, who is the go-to for all that documentation. Super cool to do that for everyone. PM your car model/year etc and VIN, maybe a little begging

2012 Mercedes-Benz E350 coupe
Same thing happened to me over time. I had it replaced from the dealership, was charged up the ***. I think I had read somewhere on here (or another forum) that the subs insulation (if that's what it's called) can become loose and then begin to rattle. A remedy was suggested for drilling a couple holes and screwing it down/securing it for a tighter fit, if that makes sense?
