Hi there, thanks for having me. I’m just about to buy an E350cdi cabriolet for the wife, I’ve looked all around it and driven it, all is good, history is good also. The only thing I am concerned about is the roof where it meets the rear window. It is not broken and there is no gap at all, it doesn’t leak. However as you can see the stitching in the area down the side I am worried it’s been over stretched and is about to split meaning probably a new roof. I have attached a photo, can anyone tell me if this is perfectly normal for an 11 year old car or is this something to walk away from? Many thanks in advance for your help. You can just see the stitching next to the window
Per the web, a top's life is around 5-7 years, some say as many as ten. If that's the original top on your car, you might as well put a replacement in your future plan.
