Hi all,

Haven't posted much in the 207 forums but I have been thoroughly enjoying my tuned E 550 Coupe for over 2 years now. I noticed that my original grille mesh was slightly damaged, so I decided to purchase an aftermarket Panamericano grille from eBay. The fitment is fine, and I was able to transfer the 360 camera with no issue.

My problem is with the Distronic star. The original distronic has 3 tabs that click right into the grille. When I fitted the original star to the grille, it was very loose/wobbly. It won't fully come unseated from the grille while driving (at least not yet), but after going over some bumps I notice the star is slightly out of place. Contacting the manufacturer on eBay, I was advised to purchase an additional aftermarket star that is the twist-in style. The star locks into the grille perfectly. I thought all the issues were solved at that point.

Now every time I drive the car, I am getting an error message for radar cruise, blind spot assist, and lane keep assist. It is very annoying as I like to use those features. The ultimate goal is to have a locked-in star with all features working, but if not, I may have to purchase an original grille for upwards of $400

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on this matter? The new twist-in star was fully refunded after I complained... should I try a different seller or a different grille? They all claim it works with distronic. Thanks in advance!

Update and issue resolved:

Purchased OEM twist-in star Part # A 000 888 00 11
No more error messages, Distronic and all features are working normally
