How to refit COMAND Head Unit? Not enough room for power harness
Hi guys,
Trying to install one of the aftermarket carplay boxes (KremerSino NTG 4.0) if it matters.
All working on the technical side when I test it, boots into carplay and connects etc. but I cannot for the life of me reseat the COMAND unit. Can't see as it's blocked with plastic, but I have to assume it's due to the new power harness; it genuinely doesn't look like there's enough room. Included a couple of images below.
I've followed myriad online tutorials re. seating the box itself and routing cables under the glovebox (done), but haven't seen any discussion around this. Anyone have any ideas?

Pardon my ignorance here, but would it be possible to shove as much as possible up, down below, and/or to one side or the other, and then gently slide the unit in? And maybe at least some of the wires would follow the trajectory of the wires already shoved up, down, or to the sides?
I personally gave up on the carplay boxes. It just seemed like a lot of work, and then what happens if/when the box fails? I gotta do all that again! Props to you guys for going for it. I was too lazy haha. I'm still trying to find a good phone mount to just use my phone directly for navigation. I have a Bluetooth adapter for the MMI port that can at least display tracks on the screen and allows the use of steering wheel controls to skip tracks (CHOOCL Bluetooth 5.0 aptX-HD Adapter from Amazon in case anyone cares).

Had this exact same issue about a month ago installing a CarPlay box. The only spot I was able to fit the harness coupling was to the left and UNDER the OEM head unit. It took a couple of tries but eventually it fit. Only problem is it gives you less cable length to reach the glove box.

Forgot to mention, it's been 5 years now with wireless CarPlay and multiple firmware, iPhone, and iOS upgrades. Still working great and same Joyeauto box!
