P2097 code

2012 E550 Cabriolet 2011 VW Eos 1985 Pininfarina Spider
P2097 code
I have a 2012 E550 Cabriolet and the CEL came on last night, with a P2097 code. I currently do not have a Star diagnostic tool so the generic code is the best I can do right now. I have an appointment next week at my local Mercedes mechanic, but wanted to know if there is anything I might be able to try beforehand. The generic code seems to point to the downstream O2 sensor running rich. Obviously this could be a defective sensor or something upstream causing the car to run rich. The last couple of weeks I have noticed a random fuel smell. Any suggestions I can try before I take to the mechanic next week?

I would assume the upstream O2 sensor is not working so well and creating the rich condition. Or, maybe the sensor doing the complaining. Could also be the cat, maybe.
Are the O2 sensors the originals?
I suppose you could run some cleaner through it, like Cataclean. Who knows how well it works but you you might get lucky, and it's a lot cheaper than a visit to the mechanic. Or worse, the dealer.

I put some Heet and Cat cleaner in yesterday and the CEL went off. Since the CEL went on right after a fill up, I am thinking I got some bad gas.
