E250 cabriolet
Intermittent roof issue

Hi All, I’ve just bought a 2011 E250 cabriolet, every now and then the roof won’t open, forgive the lack of proper part names, the part of the roof with the window won’t fold up but the roof hole cover tries to open, if I push this back down the roof will open properly, where should I be looking for a solution?

You know you can always use a dealer to help deal with thorny issues.

The roof opening system uses a collection of sensors that each require attention. You can pay to deal with each one or you can fix them all at once yourself or on your own freetime schedule.

To gain insight you'll need use of a good MB scanner to read active faults. This will help guide your repairs and help with your testing.

At the end of the day it's likely a single skinny wire has broken off.
