Which spark plugs should I use?

Hello guys,

I have a 2012 E550 Cabrio with factory spark plugs and around 103k mi on the engine and I am in need of plugs. I see the dealer wants $30 to $60 per plug and Bosch makes an aftermarket plug for $13 (0041598103) factory plug number Zr6s11320 are the Bosch plugs. Are these plugs the same, which ones should I pick? Thanks again

Dealer plugs will ensure you pay the greatest price possible. A quality aftermarket brand -- Bosch, NGK, etc. -- will work as well (hint: MB doesn't make spark plugs). Is this your first plug change? I recently changed my Jeep Rubicon plugs at 60K miles, and despite the OM stating they are 100K plugs, they were overdue by at least 10K miles. Post a photo of an old plug and a new plug when you do the job. Some of us would like to see how they compare.

Here's a pic of two of my Rubicon's 60K mile (best and worst) Champion RER8ZWYCB4 OE plugs out of its 3.6L Pentastar. Plug on the left has its point electrode completely burned off, while plug on the right is still close to original. Despite gap being nearly twice spec, it was still firing and never caused a mis-fire fault code. Stopped at a nearby Jeep dealer and asked if this plug wear was normal, and was told yes. Nevertheless, the engine runs smoother now. Still collecting fuel economy difference. The Pentastar is fuel injected, electronic ignition with individual coil packs, so same design concept as MB and most other cars. Don't ding me for posting non-MB info here -- I'm just commenting on the general topic of spark plugs, and changing MB plugs at 40K - 60K is likely justifiable as with any gasoline ICE.
