:0!! Oil filter cap new owner help!

Hi! I am the new owner of a 2015 mercedes benz e400 4matic. Nice meeting you folks! I would like to change the oil, and though it is nice that I don’t have to crawl under the vehicle to access the oil filter, I can’t loosen the D*** plastic oil filter housing. I tried everything. First got an oil filter wrench that was too small. Then got a variable size one that slipped. Now have a 74mm one that is slightly large, put a latex glove around the housing and fits snug but still slips. How do I get it off with damaging it? Also, I plan on using an electric pump to pump out the oil through the dipstick tube so I don’t have to crawl under the car and undo a million screws. Has this been done before? Does it work well?

promise yourself one thing... replace your plastic oil filter housing cap. It holds one of the engine killer: the plastic bypass valve that feeds engine with unfiltered dirty oil during engine start.

Once you have the new one I let you get creative to get the old cap out with a filter top wrench.

Pumping oil out is child's play every 5000.Miles with a 9-Quarts manual extractor.

So the new oil filter housing doesn’t have this bypass valve?

New genuine oil filter cap also has a plastic bypass valve but has more life left.

spring loaded plastic relief

genuine bypass valve

first point of failure

The key is a good clean filter plus low engine calcium sludge to partially plug-up filter then bypass relief will feed contaminants at every startup.
