Took the car for a long drive almost 1000km and I was really surprised it returned 8.2l/100km on average speed of 110kph. This is with 4 people and with a loaded trunk. That is like just a smitten more from my mini cooper (getting around 7.8l/100 km on full load) but with pure smoothness, power, space and refinement. It makes me really question the point of buying a new car when a 15 year old car can do better. If only non-mb people realize what they can have on the W204 and W212 generation these vehicles will outperform majority of the newer cars in terms of reliability and power/cost ratio. Imagine buying one for less than $20k and getting all the superior built quality and still have $40k on the bank for repairs vs buying new. Slap a android system on these tanks and welcome to year 2024.

I feel same way as you do. I hate to think to buy a new vehicle because it just wont stand up to quality build and the overall value equation my W207 has been.
