Ambient Temperature Sensor Location
Can someone please tell me exactly where the ambient temperature sensor is located on the convertible? I have read it is behind the right LED light cluster, but then found this pic which looks like it is on the left side. I can't see it behind either side. Is it accessible from the top or bottom?
I think this question has popped up before, and if I recall correctly, nobody knew. I wondered myself but never found it, but I didn't try very hard either.
I'd simply poke around for something that looks like the pix you posted, and I'd assume it would be located where radiator heat won't reach it. So forward, to one side, and low. I'd also assume the little spike is visible from the front, yet not obvious. And no doubt very small.
There shouldn't be many things down there so looking from under the car you could follow any wires you see in the general area. I'd assume a single pair of small wires, smaller than any other wires. If you find it, let us know
I’ll look on my c207 today, however on my e63 w212 it is viewable from underneath, once you remove the front most plastic underpan cover thing. It is embedded in the lower bumper area just to the left of the oil cooler hose attachments. To the right of the aux radiator and headlight assembly, if facing from the cockpit towards front end. Will try to grab a pic shortly
