No Brakes!! 😯

Hi everyone, I have a 2011 e220 CSI cabriolet (A207) and found I was loosing brake fluid/pedal sinking quickly. I made it home and it appears my brake lines Re badly corroded and need replacing.
I have absolutely no idea where to get them from here in the UK . Also I can't seem to find the ends....there's two pipes run along the car floor from front to back but with no connections or spots where I can split them.
Can someone please help and tell me how/where the ends are if there one piece and where to get a replacement.
I appreciate any help at all 👍
Bobby.

Lucky you managed to get home safely. I've had the same experience once... hell'O scary !

Replacement lines are copper coiled then cut to fit. It's up to whom repairs this to ensure all the rusted steel lines are replaced.

Losing brakes because of losing brake fluid? Not in a MB but once in a Lincoln. Very light traffic, and judicious use of accelerator and emergency brake got me to the Auto repair shop.

It's definitely an experience when this happens. I had a "not old" 2001 Dodge 2500 back in the day and that happened two or three times with that truck and it became a terrifying experience to ever have to worry about slamming on the brakes, even after replacement of the Full Lines, which I did myself. That was the first time I had a WTF moment in the way some parts placed on cars are not fit for duty and should have been illegal to be used. That truck was absolute trash, underscoring the pathetic quality of American brands, all of which were complete rust buckets in the early 2000's. There is a reason those companies should have gone out of business instead of being saved with subsidies. I dont ever see buying an American car ever again after multiple instances of owning absolute trash produced by them including Ford, Jeep, and Dodge. Im now very judicious with lanolin coatings on anything metal underneath the cars I own. The issue with most lines is that once they get a bit of pitting from road debris, they have no protection from rust. Fluid film helps keep those areas from corroding.

The now well known & infamous rear subframe failure on our cars should also be paired with a well known advisory of brake line failure, specifically in the rear of the car mostly hidden from view ABOVE the rear subframe.....central, along the channel where the junction for the parking brake cable is.

I just watched a feature on the current Aston Martin DB12, & shook my head as I witnessed a rear sway bar in plain sight, accessible to any 14 yr old with a socket set unlike ours requiring subframe removal or lowering to access bushings that are only serviceable via a new sway bar altogether. A bad joke made in poor tase indeed.

I hope you've been able to sort your brake lines by now. Scary to say the least & glad you averted any serious incident.

ALMOST WELL BUILT

it's amazin' to drive luxury cars with rusty steel lines.
This is a parallel with the Takata airbags lottery: save or kill drivers??

Hahaha "almost well built" indeed!
I think it goes something like, "Save until we almost kill drivers, then we say a collective public "Oops! Sorry guys!"

I will at least say MBUSA reimbursed me for my rear subframe, but the brake lines would've been on me had I needed them at that point.
