Cabriolet hydraulic pump blew its fluid!
I used a borescope to look down into the left side of trunk where the hydraulic pump is. Reservoir is empty and there is a nice puddle of hydraulic fluid collected at the bottom of the trunk directly under the pump.
2 questions: I'm assuming there is a bad seal on the pump. Can it be fixed or do I just need a new pump. If I need a new pump, is there a better source than local dealership?
Also, where can I find good directions for removal of the trim that hides the pump ? I have not found AI to be all that useful in this type of situation.

Good luck and keep us up to date on your progress...
I exposed the pump- removed the left side trunk lining and the power amp. Confirmed large puddle of fluid direcly under pump, reservoir with maybe 1/2 inch of fluid in bottom.
I filled the reservoir, and hooked 12 V to the pump, hoping to confirm site of leak before removing pump for replacement.
Abnormal noise- not the typical whine, but a lower pitched grinding sound. No leak anywhere. Reservoir stays level.
I then hooked pump up normally (power supply and solenoid connectors), and pressed the top control button. Nothing.
Dash says Top Operating (so control module is OK and powered), no 12V at pump connector now. A blown fuse or SAM somewhere.
The only other thing I noted wrong is that the wipers/washer are not working. Different fuses, different SAMs (I think). I checked all the relevant fuses- nothing bad there.
AI says look for inline fuses, and other stuff that I don't know where it is.
Any suggestions?
