active braking was coming on without reason

2018 E400C Houston TX,
my collision control was coming on while no cars in front of me one weekend applying the brakes at the first interval at 25%. didn't think much of it at first, but was encouraged to look up the indicator code in the owners manual. the next week it was activated again in the morning going around a curb. When it happened a third time after work, this time braking 50% I called the service manager. the service manager explained a little bit more how the system works, which was not found in the manual. Stating that the system should compensate for dirt on the sensor and give an alert if dirty. I took it in for service and no problem found. The service manager said he uploaded a newer version of software and the system has been working great since. even with my bad driving habits. (left foot braking and right foot gas)

Update on active braking: The active braking issue has returned. I tried to pin point if it was water, cars or objects around me. however, rain or dry weather the brake active stills come on. I secluded a another service request to help come to a conclusion.

2018 E400 Coupe
My 2018 E400C has done it a few times, usually when there's been a small but distinct bump in the road a few feet ahead of the car made by asphalt and tar covering a crack across the road. The braking is momentary only, like one second, but still enough to jolt the whole car. I travel that road frequently, and 99.9 percent of the time the car ignores the same bump.

Update on active braking system. The MB service manager replaced the Sensor/module behind the Star in the front grill. He said, that all the data received seems to point to this. I picked my car up and drove it all weekend..So far so good.
