Please keep us posted.
I don't consider this to be a serious problem but if it's not working as it should be or even as expected, then I'd like to know why.

Can you post a copy of the work order? It would explain what was done. It would be helpful as we work with our dealers.

That may ultimately be the answer, but it doesn’t make sense. The settings menu gives the option for the seat to move and there are sensors to stop and reverse the seat it it contacts someone while it moves back after allowing someone in the back seat. The same sensors could stop the seat moving when the Easy Exit/Entry is active. My dealer seems to think it should work and is researching the issue. I’ll post their response when I get it.

Can you still confirm that your seat moves back for your wife as part of the Easy Exit/Entry feature. Maybe post a video? So far, you are the only one to report that this happens. My dealer is now telling me that the seat doesn’t move as part of the feature. I’m still not ready to accept the dealer’s answer. The owners manual says it should move and the settings in the car allow for a choice of having the seat move or not. This really isn’t high tech stuff. I also have a Ford with the Easy Exit/Entry feature. It works flawlessly every time. Both the steering wheel and seat move.

What I can tell you is that the option is there in the menu and we have it enabled. The feature works for my wife every time as she sits with the seat much further forward than I do. It has never worked for me.

My wife is currently out of the country so I can't provide you with any proof.

My Touchpad Controller stopped working. The first thing I noticed was that menus would pop up with no input. At first I blamed my wife for touching something, then it happened when she wasn’t in the car. The Touchpad then became un-responsive. I disabled it in system settings. After a while, I re-enabled it. It worked for a while, then failed again. Sometimes it works for a while then fails. I reset the COMAND system back to factory defaults and rebooted. The Touchpad stil didn’t work. A trip to the dealer is in order next week. I actually use the Touchpad often, but can get by without it. The system still works with inputs from the dial controller and steering wheel pads, so I’m in no hurry to get the Touchpad fixed.

I just noticed that the rear parking sensor sounds are very muted, almost inaudible. They had always been the same as the front parking warning sounds. The visual display is working as it always has. I have the parking sensor volume set to maximum. The front sensor warning sounds are loud and clear as they have always been.

I own a E400 Coupe since may and I have come to notice the same thing. I usually keep it in a garage but last weekend we were in a hotel and the following morning I foung drops of water in the front lights... disturbing... I need to take the car to the dealer soon for the first maintenance and I´ll definetly address the problema. That should not happen... What did they tell you about your problem? was it hard to fix?

CONFIRMED CUSTOMER CONCERN AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OF USING THE TOUCHPAD, CONNECTED XENTRY
DIAGNOSTICS TO PERFORM QUICK TEST BUT FOUND NO CURRENT OR STORED FAULTS REGARDING TOUCHPAD, ATTEMPTED TO LOCATE ANY POSSIBLE UPDATES TO THE TOUCHPAD UNIT OR THE AUDIO/COMAND BUT FOUND NONE TO BE AVAILABLE, SEARCHED FOR PTSS CASES FOR TOUCHPAD CONCERNS BUT UNABLE TO FIND ANY AT THIS TIME, CONSULTED SHOP FOREMAN FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTION AND AFTER TESTING TOUCHPAD, FOUND CONTACTS TO BE FAULTY IN TOUCHPAD UNIT, REPLACED AND PERFORMED INITIAL STARTUP OF THE TOUCHPAD, OPERATED COMAND UNIT USING NEW TOUCHPAD AND FOUND TO NOW BE OPERATING AS DESIGNED.

Update - Since I initially noticed the rear sensors warning sounds to be muted, they seem to have returned to normal. I had them checked anyway and the dealer confirms they are operating normally, but they did note that the rear warning tone is quieter than the front.
OPERATED THE PARK ASSIST BUT FOUND THE REAR TONE TO BE OPERATING THOUGH SLIGHTLY QUIETER THAN THE FRONT TONE, CHECKED VOLUME ADJUSTMENT AND FOUND IT TO BE AT PEAK ADJUSTMENT, COMPARED PARK ASSIST VOLUME IN SIMILAR VEHICLE WITH IDENTICAL SYSTEM AND FOUND VOLUME LEVELS TO MATCH THUS VOLUME IS AT ITS PROPER OPERATING TONE, NO CORRECTION NEEDED AT THIS TIME

The right side tail light in my E53 Coupe has the same type of water issue. It's at the dealer now. The replacement part is on order. This is now looking like a manufacturing defect effecting many cars. This problem is identical to Tom992's E53 tail light. My picture looks just like his.

I had been complaining for a while about a loud squeak that happened sometimes when the car would move after being stopped. Had it in twice over a period of 3 months and I got “no problem found” both times.
Finally, the guy who sold me the car rode with me and I had my iPhone hanging out of the car and we were able to record the sound a few times. Both of us figured it had to be a brake that wasn’t releasing fully.
So brought it back in last Monday. They gave me a loaner and my car was ready Thursday. They found a little scoring on the left rear brake pad that shouldn’t have been there on only a nine-month old car. So.... they replaced the entire brake assemblies on both rear tires. Rotors, pads, calipers, sensors... everything. That had to be $5K.
And on top of that, one tire was low on pressure and they found a bolt lodged in it. Thank goodness I bought the tire and wheel insurance. $430 for the new tire that I didn’t have to pay.
I have to hand it to my salesman, Wil Turner, at Mercedes-Benz of Midlothian.... he isn’t even a salesman any more—he now works as finance manager but he told me that I bought the car from him and he would still take care of me even though he has a different job.
