Climate Control

The 2019 E Coupe owners manual says Climate Control settings are accessed either by the hard buttons/switches in the center console OR through the multimedia system in the Vehicle - Climate settings. It also says the Climate Control menu can be accessed by pressing the MENU button in the center console. My E53 Coupe doesn’t seem to have any Climate Control setting capability in the multimedia system, only from the hard buttons/switches. The MENU button in the center of the console only brings up a “Climate Control - Overview” screen that shows the air flow but doesn’t allow any setting changes.

This is really isn’t a problem, just a curiosity. I don’t think it’s a defect. I would like to know what is different about my car and why it differs from the manual. I think most people would rather use the buttons and switches rather than navigate the multimedia menus.

Of course and I will ask next time I’m there. I’ve found that most sales people don’t know much about these cars beyond the basics. Sometimes you can find a sales person that is an enthusiast with in depth knowledge, but that’s not the norm. I think many on MBWorld tend to do more research than the sales people and have more experience with the specific model cars they own. Even the “product specialist” that was supposed to show us the cars systems at delivery was stumped by some of the menus in the COMAND system.
