E53 cabrio vs E550 cabrio (2012 and newer)
Starting to investigate the next fun car for the garage and wondering if anyone here has had both an e550 cabrio (2012 forward, with bi-turbo) and an e53 cabrio and can compare/contrast the cars and their differences. I'm sure e53 is a bit quicker, but all thoughts and first hand observations would be appreciated.

E550 vs E53
At one time I had a 2014 (I think) E550 and now have a brand new (one month old) E53 cabriolet. The E53 is, as you said, a lot, lot quicker. In addition, it is loaded with the current era E class tech extras, runs and shifts much, much smoother and is 100% more plush on the inside. Really a wonderful car so far as we are “just getting to know one another.”

you think it's quicker ? on paper they are about the same.... ours does an easy 4.5 second 0-60 without any trickery.... I do like the interior of the new one though... but alas the wife will not drive anything but a V8... guess she is old school....

Well, remember, the new E53 has 429 horsepower under the hood....the mechanics of the car are just amazing. Suggest you let your wife test drive one...I think she will be sold....and, as we both agree, the interior is spectacular.
