Snow tires and rims for E450

What will be the winter tire size and rim size for the E450 4matic?
Will 17” wheels fit?

I ordered a set of aftermarket winter rims and tires early last month and I had a chance to install the winter set this morning.
The tire sizes are 245/45/18 and the aftermarket rim sizes are 18x8.5 hub centric offset 35.
However, after the tire shop finished the installation and I drove the car off the parked lot, the car was vibrating when I stepped on the brake.
The guy from the shop told me that the existing OEM long stud bolts could not be used for the aftermarket wheels, and they must be used the shorter ones.
Is it true the existing long stud bolts cannot be used?
The owner of the shop told me that the vibrating maybe caused by the rims at the rear and he would ordered a different set of rims next week.
